Coach Anthony Brown
Coach Anthony Brown was raised in the urban streets of Miami. As a child he watched martial art movies starring Bruce Lee, who inspired him and fueled his desire to learn martial arts. Growing up, he participated in various sports and focused on his physical fitness and improving his skill set.
Looking for positive direction, Coach Anthony joined the Marine Corps in 1991. As a Marine, he developed the self discipline required to gain and maintain a high level of fitness inherent to the Marine Corps way of life. His years of class instruction and training have allowed him to gain extensive knowledge in the areas of physical fitness, cardiovascular and functional training.
While at his first duty station in Okinawa, Japan, Coach Anthony finally had the opportunity to study martial arts. In 2008 at the Martial Art Center of Excellence, Coach Anthony tested for and received his 1st degree black belt in Marine Corps Martial Arts. Being recognized for his abilities to lead and instruct, Coach Anthony became a certified instructor in Marine Corps Martial Arts. With more than 5 years of training experience, he has trained over 350 individuals.
Over the past 20 years, Coach Anthony has continued his self defense and martial arts training. In addition to the Marine Corps Martial Arts, he has studied Wing Chun, Jeet Kun Do, and Okinawan Kenpo. His most recent martial art training includes Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Babao Arnis Escrima where he holds a blue belt and yellow belt respectively.
As recently as October 2011, Coach Anthony became a Certified Personal Defense Readiness Instructor with Blauer Tactical Systems. This certifications allows him to teach his students a street preparation approach to self defense using scenario-based combative techniques to create confidence and knowledge.
Coach Anthony's desire is to share his knowledge of fitness training and martial arts with the community. His goal is to help all indivduals reach higher levels of fitness through functional and cardio training, build self confidence, and master street survival self defense techniques.
